"La fotografia del nou mil·lenni es veu immersa en una batalla inversemblant. Sobreviure al caos provocat pel creixent soroll visual esdevé imprescindible per no trencar el lligam, sempre controvertit, entre art i fotografia. La cultura visual s’ha d’imposar per separar el gra de la palla, perquè no és el mateix fer fotos que ser fotògraf. David Oliete resol amb contundència el dubte i defineix la frontera entre el fer o el ser amb una sola paraula: la mirada. Aquesta és la força de la seva fotografia. Una mirada que no només el caracteritza i l’identifica sinó que transforma la del propi entorn. Una expressió personal capaç d’influir en la comprensió col·lectiva. Una nota afinada entre tant soroll que trenca el punt de vista establert per convertir la imatge d’un fenomen cultural tan nostre com els castells en una icona. Un canvi de paradigma que suposa una revolució, aquí rau la complicitat i el compromís amb l’esdevenir de la fotografia d’aquest fotògraf tarragoní que imprimeix caràcter i singularitat a l’art d’explicar històries".
